The Computer Science Department has been at the forefront of computing education since 2004. We combine rigorous theoretical foundations with hands-on practical training, preparing graduates to solve real-world problems across industry, government, and research.
Our faculty brings together academic researchers and industry veterans, creating a learning environment where theory meets practice. From undergraduate programs to professional certifications, every pathway is designed with career outcomes in mind.
With over 500 enrolled students, 22 faculty members, and active partnerships with 40+ companies and institutions, we are building a generation of tech leaders equipped to shape the future of computing in Africa and beyond.

History & Milestones
Department Founded
The Computer Science Department was established as part of the Faculty of Science and Technology with an inaugural class of 45 students.
First Graduates
Our pioneering BSc class of 38 graduates entered the workforce, with 90% employed within six months.
4K Research Lab Opened
State-of-the-art computing infrastructure opened, giving students access to GPU clusters and IoT testbeds.
MSc Programme Launched
Postgraduate studies introduced with specialisations in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
PhD Programme & Industry Partnerships
Doctoral research programme launched alongside partnerships with 20+ industry organisations.
IEEE & ACM Curriculum Alignment
Curriculum restructured to align with IEEE and ACM global computing standards.
